Day 1 -
Manaus to the Amazon Rainforest
The journey begins with a scenic drive to the Ceasa Port, where a brief stop is made to explore the vibrant fish and fruit market. From there, a regional boat is boarded for a river cruise towards the Meeting of the Waters. This stunning natural phenomenon, where the dark waters of the Rio Negro meet the lighter waters of the Rio Solimões, offers an excellent photo opportunity. If fortunate, pink dolphins may be spotted in the area. The journey continues to Careiro Village, where a land vehicle (van or minibus) is taken along the BR 319 highway. Along the way, the Victoria Regia water lilies can be admired with a short stop for photographs. The journey progresses along the AM-020 highway, and a motorized boat ride is taken from there. This stretch of the journey offers an immersive experience, cruising through narrow igarapés (small river branches) and igapós (flooded forest areas).
Arrival is expected by noon for check-in and accommodation in the bungalows. After a brief orientation of the facilities, lunch is served. In the afternoon, the first exploration of Mamori Lake is carried out by motorized canoe, offering the chance to experience the unique flora and fauna of the Amazon rainforest. A delicious dinner with the finest Amazonian cuisine is served at 7:00 PM.
